OATS, Inc. Celebrates Northeast Regional Director for 30 Years of Service
August 5, 2009
Sheree Webb began her career with OATS, Inc. in 1979 when the Northeast office was first established in Shelbina, Missouri. For thirty years, Sheree’s dedication to OATS and the services OATS provides has been appreciated by her superiors, peers and all of those OATS serves.
Sheree was born in Shelbina, and has lived there her entire life. She was not born in a traditional hospital, but at the home of her Grandpa and Grandma Turney. “Maybe that’s why I love Shelbina so much and have never left—my roots are deep,” Sheree says.
In her time with OATS, Sheree has seen much growth and many changes. The Northeast Region that Sheree directs, which is comprised of 16 counties, started out with just the main office in Shelbina, and now has additional offices in both Kirksville and Troy. Sheree says that one of the most significant changes she has experienced as a result of OATS’ growth “was in 1980 when the service was opened up to the entire general public, and was no longer only for the elderly and disabled.”
When asked what Sheree likes most about working for OATS, she says it is very rewarding to know that what you do each day enhances the quality of life for others. She is very proud of her staff, believing that the success of OATS depends on employees whose commitment, skills and positive energy make things happen. Sheree feels blessed to have this caliber of people on her team, and says, “Each and every one of my 101 employees in the Northeast Region is excellent. Their commitment to providing the best transportation services possible never ceases to amaze me. I know I can always count on them.”
When not working for OATS, Sheree enjoys spending time with family in their country getaway. She is a lover of nature and wildlife, and says being in the country is even more fun when all the family is there together. She’s been married for 28 years, and she and her husband Chuck have two daughters and five “very good grandchildren.”
Those who know Sheree have also seen her competitive side, which she feels has likely served her well in the business world. “When we play games at our monthly regional management meetings, everyone wants me on their team because they know I play not only for fun –but to win!”
Linda Yaeger, Executive Director of OATS, Inc. says “Sheree Webb is a gem. She consistently assures all with whom she works, including our wonderful volunteers, of their importance to her and to OATS’ mission. She is dedicated to OATS and the people we transport, and we are so lucky to have such a pro as part of our team.”
