OATS, Inc. Celebrates Cedar County Driver for 15 Years of Service

September 15, 2009

Shirley Wimsatt began driving for OATS, Inc, in September of 1994 and is proud to celebrate her fifteen year anniversary with the company. Before joining the OATS team, Shirley was a school bus driver. When a couple of her co-workers told Shirley about their other jobs driving for OATS, she decided to apply. Since then she’s been very pleased with the decision.

Shirley says what she enjoys most about working for OATS is the people, both those sheShirley Wimsatt works for and those she serves. She describes the OATS company as one that “cares about their employees” and provides “good training”.

Shirley’s days are spent driving in-town and medical routes around Cedar County. About once a month, she makes a trip to Kansas City. Shirley really enjoys the variety of her job, and because she works mornings, has afternoons free to shop or attend to other responsibilities.

With her three children now grown, Shirley no longer spends her spare time running to basketball, baseball, softball and football. She instead relishes quiet time reading, and also enjoys visiting with her four grandchildren whom she is fortunate to have nearby.

About working for OATS, Shirley says “This has been a terrific job. I work with great people, including my passengers and the other drivers.”

Tracy Walkup, Midwest Regional Director for OATS says, “Shirley is a great example of the dedicated people we are fortunate to have on our team. I am very thankful for her 15 years of service and hope to have her with us for many more years.”
