OATS, Inc. Celebrates Marion County Driver for 20 Years of Service
October 5, 2009
Twenty years ago, after both of her girls were in school, Judy Richardson decided she wanted to go back to work. That’s when she began her career with OATS, Inc.
Having been out of the work force for many years while raising her two children, Judy
quickly realized her former office skills were now a bit passé. However, years of transporting her kids, her mother and her mother-in-law had sharpened Judy’s driving skills. She applied to OATS, Inc. and was hired.
Judy says that working for OATS has afforded her the opportunity to be around people – before which, she was a bit shy. But thanks to many pleasant experiences with many great people, she has come out of her shell. She also appreciates all the places she has gotten to see that she might otherwise not have experienced.
When asked about her co-workers, Judy describes them as wonderful, caring and considerate. “People that work for OATS are people that want to do something for others.” Judy said it has been very rewarding to know she helps so many maintain their independence.
In her spare time, Judy enjoys attending the soccer and hockey games of her grand children along with her husband of forty years. When asked about her plans to continue working for OATS, she says “I appreciate OATS letting me be here for the last 20 years. I’ve had wonderful co-workers and good bosses, and I hope to be here for a few more.”
Patty Robinson, a fellow driver, says Judy is “a good driver who is respected by all her co-workers and enjoyed by all of her riders. She makes all feel important and special.”
