“I am proud of the services we provide that allow people to live independently in their homes,” says Marsha Crowley about her 15-year career with OATS, Inc.
It was May of 1995 when Marsha decided she was ready for a change. She was working
three part-time jobs and looking for something permanent and full-time. She answered an ad for a position as OATS Northeast Regional Secretary and was hired.
Over the years, Marsha has worked her way up in the organization, and now holds the title of Northeast Regional Administrative Coordinator. Her responsibilities include overseeing Medicaid transportation for the Region, which entails assigning drivers, dispatching and all the paperwork that goes along with it.
Marsha says the biggest changes she’s seen at OATS in her time has been the technological advances in communication that make her job more efficient. “We used to do so much by phone – taking ride requests and filling them. Now we can download requests directly from the Medicaid office. Email has been a big change, too.” Marsha says that being able to gather information more efficiently allows them to do more, which translates into more services for the people they serve.
In her spare time, Marsha loves to travel. She is also an accomplished piano teacher and has been giving lessons for 33 years.
Sheree Webb, the Northeast Regional Direct for OATS says “Marsha’s steady progress is a result of her numerous accomplishments over the years; but the one that stands out is her success in getting cooperation from her co-workers. We would find it difficult to get along without her, and hope she spends many more rewarding years with us!”
