Productive Living Board Gives Grant for the Purchase of a New Bus

OATS Transit has received a capital grant from the Productive Living Board (PLB) to buy a new bus. In an effort to ensure St. Louis County individuals with developmental disabilities are provided reliable transportation, which allows them to access their community, PLB presented OATS Transit with the funds to purchase the new bus.

This new bus was delivered this month and is being used on the Lafayette West workshop route. All OATS Transit buses are ADA accessible to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility devices. “We are grateful that organizations like the Productive Living Board are dedicated to giving back to the communities they serve,” said Dorothy Yeager, Executive Director of OATS Transit. Last year, OATS Transit provided 239,900 trips for St. Louis County residents alone, and covered 2.5 million miles to provide that service. More than 80% of that service was to get individuals served by PLB to work and day habitation programs. In addition to this capital grant, OATS Transit received program support to provide daily service in St. Louis County.
