OATS Transit, a Missouri-based not-for-profit transportation provider, is pleased to have received a $10,000 grant from Veterans United Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Veterans United Home Loans.

The funds donated by the Veterans United Foundation will be used by OATS Transit to provide rides to veterans for no fare, and transport veterans to the annual Entrepreneurship Boot Camp hosted by the University of Missouri in Columbia.

OATS Transit provides service to the VA Hospital in Columbia, as well as VA Clinics in five neighboring cities. OATS Transit provides transportation to work, medical appointments, essential shopping, nutrition, and other needs to individuals with disabilities, seniors, and rural residents of any age. With a workforce of 565 employees, 17% are also Veterans.

“We are grateful that organizations like Veterans United are dedicated to giving back to the community,” said Gary Anspach, Mid-Mo Regional Director. “Without their support, we would not be able to provide as many rides for veterans in the Mid-Mo Region,” added Anspach.

Mid-Missouri Veterans seeking a ride should call OATS Transit at 573-449-3789. Information about OATS Transit can be found on the website at www.oatstransit.org, or at facebook.com/oatstransit. OATS Transit is also accepting applications for drivers in the Mid-Missouri area; all openings are listed on the company website.
