(Sedalia, Missouri, January 13, 2026) Doris Viets of Cole Camp MO is being honored by OATS Transit for 35 years of service with the company on January 26, 2026. OATS Transit is a 501c3 organization that provides specialized transportation in 86 Rural Missouri counties.

Doris started at OATS Transit’s Sedalia office in January of 1991. She serves as an operations coordinator working in a variety of capacities including assisting passengers with trips and data entry work, plus filling in for dispatch to help drivers.  “Doris is an invaluable member of the Midwest team.  With her years of experience and her 'can do' attitude, there is nothing that arises in our office that she can't handle, and she does it with a smile” said Tracy Walkup, Midwest Regional Manager.

Doris admits she has seen many changes in her 35-year span at OATS Transit, including an increase in number and type of trip requests we receive. “It’s much easier now that we don’t have to manually schedule appointments on paper calendars,” said Doris.  She added “manual operations required extensive paperwork for billing, employee timesheet verification, and trip scheduling. 35 years of technology have made the process much easier.”

In addition to rural service, OATS Transit also contracts with agencies needing transportation for their clients.
