In 2020 OATS Transit was the recipient of a capital grant from the Jefferson Foundation, which provides funding to non-profit agencies in Jefferson County. Due to the long wait on vehicles since the COVID pandemic, we ended up purchasing a minivan through a local dealership rather than waiting on bus production to resume. In May 2023, we received a new Honda Odyssey and will put this vehicle into service in June. While it does not accommodate mobility devices as many of our other vehicles do, it will provide lots of service to our customers who don’t require wheelchair service. The smaller vehicles are great for taking ambulatory clients to medical appointments and various other community resources. The Honda Odyssey offers efficiency and flexibility, while still having lots of cargo space and safety features. Thanks to the #jeffersonfoundation we are pleased to be able to put this new van into service in Jefferson County.
