OATS Transit receives bus donation from Mercy Hospital
(Columbia, Missouri, October 9, 2020) – OATS Transit, a Missouri based not-for-profit transportation provider, was pleased to receive a bus donation from Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus MO this week. The bus was presented to OATS Transit in order to help local resident’s access healthcare.
The donated bus will be used on the Missouri Baptist route, which picks up individuals for cancer treatments and other appointments at Missouri Baptist. OATS Transit Operations Manager Kevin Porter was on hand to receive the bus donation from Megan Drissell, Mercy Hospital Community Health Director. OATS Transit has collaborated with the Hospital for many years to ensure local residents have access to healthcare.
In Jefferson County, OATS Transit provides transportation to medical appointments, essential shopping, work, nutrition and other needs for individuals of any age. “We are grateful that businesses like Mercy Hospital are dedicated to giving back to the communities they serve,” said Dorothy Yeager, Executive Director of OATS Transit. “Donations come in many shapes and sizes, it doesn’t always have to be money,” added Yeager.
