OATS Transit receives grant from Boone Electric Community Trust

(Columbia, Missouri, July 29, 2026) – OATS Transit, a Missouri based not-for-profit transportation provider, is pleased to announce it has received a $13,950 grant from the Boone Electric Community Trust. These funds will be used toward the purchase of a new vehicle for Boone County residents.

“The Boone Electric Community Trust is proud to support OATS Transit in Boone County. Knowing our support helps bring critical transportation services to our local area truly aligns with our mission of making a difference” said Kelly Sharp, Chair of the Trust Board.

OATS Transit has been providing transportation since 1971 in the Boone County area. The company provides rides to those in need for medical appointments, essential shopping, employment and other community resources to rural residents of any age.

"This generous investment from the Community Trust is more than a new vehicle—it's an investment in the people and communities we serve, and we sincerely appreciate their partnership and support," said Michael Burbank, Regional Director.  “Local funding is a vital part of keeping our rural transportation service available in Mid-Missouri,” added Burbank.
