OATS Transit Receives Grant from Jefferson Foundation

(Festus, Missouri, December 6, 2021) – OATS Transit, a Missouri based not-for-profit transportation provider, announced today that it has received a grant from the Jefferson Foundation totaling $100,000.

These funds will be used to provide rides to Jefferson County residents using OATS Transit/JeffCo Express/JC Transit. These companies operate under three names in the county but are all owned and operated by OATS Transit. OATS Transit provides transportation for work, medical appointments, and essential shopping for individuals of any age in Jefferson County. The primary trip request in the county is for employment, including both community and sheltered workshops.

“Thanks to the Jefferson Foundation this grant allows us to match our federal grants with local funds,” said Dorothy Yeager, Executive Director of OATS Transit. “The funds will stay directly in Jefferson County to help local residents get to places they need to go,” added Yeager.
