OATS Transit was recently invited by Central States Bus Sales to test a new bus that operates on propane in Missouri. This spring, OATS Transit had the opportunity to try a 12-passenger Ford Cutaway in its Columbia market. The project was in partnership with the Missouri Propane Education and Research Council. The Council’s purpose is to support projects and programs that promote propane research, development, education, and marketing in the state. Central States and the Council asked OATS Transit to evaluate the performance of the vehicle upon completion of the demo in April. OATS Transit drivers enjoyed testing out the vehicle and learning about a vehicle running on propane. Propane vehicles are not currently available on the state’s procurement list to buy, but something that could be considered in the future.
