Taney County Receives Grant from White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s Trust Program

White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s Trust Program, Operation Round Up, has given OATS Transit a grant totaling $2,500.

These funds will be used toward the local match on a new bus for Taney County MO. OATS Transit provides transportation for work, medical appointments, essential shopping, nutrition and other needs to individuals with disabilities, seniors, and rural residents of any age throughout Taney County.

The donation from the Trust is possible because of the generosity of White River Valley Electric’s membership. Participating cooperative members round up their monthly utility bills to the next dollar, providing funds for awards such as this.

“We are happy to partner with such a great organization like OATS Transit, who enhance the lives of all they serve by providing much needed transportation” said Nathan Stearns, Community Programs Coordinator for WRVEC.

“We are grateful that organizations like the White River and their Operation Round Up program are dedicated to giving back to the communities they serve,” said Dorothy Yeager, Executive Director of OATS Transit. “Without the support from WRVEC, these purchases would not be possible.”

Taney County residents wanting to find out more about receiving transportation services should call the OATS Transit office at 417-887-9272.
