OATS Transit Receives Grant from Nixa Community Foundation

(Springfield, Missouri, November 23, 2020) – OATS Transit, a Missouri based not-for-profit transportation provider, announce that they have received a grant from the Nixa Community Foundation totaling $6,000. The grant was made possible by the Nixa Community Foundation’s Bricks & Mortar Fund and the Jess J. Graham Fund. A check was presented this week to OATS Transit’s Operations Manager Rene Frazier and Driver Debra Arnall.

These grant funds will be used toward the purchase of a new bus for Nixa and surrounding Christian County Missouri to provide rides to those in need. OATS Transit provides transportation for work, medical appointments, essential shopping, nutrition and other needs to individuals with disabilities, seniors, and rural residents of any age. Our transportation programs are vital to the Missouri economy, and help local residents live independently in their own communities.

“Thanks to the Nixa Community Foundation this grant allows us to match our federal grant with local dollars,” said Dorothy Yeager, Executive Director of OATS Transit. “We are grateful to the Nixa Community Foundation for supporting local organizations like ours, so we can continue being there for those who need us,” added Yeager.

For more information about OATS Transit please visit the website at www.oatstransit.org and follow them at facebook.com/oatstransit. Christian County residents wanting to schedule a ride should call the OATS Transit Springfield office at 800-770-6287 or 417-887-9272.
